PBSC Alum Called up by the Angels
Sammy Peralta, a left-handed pitcher who was a member of the 2018 Palm Beach State Baseball team, was called up to the Majors by the Los Angeles Angels. It is just the latest step this season for Peralta, whose started the 2025 baseball season in the Mexican League with El Aguila de Veracruz. While in the Mexican League, Peralta had a 2.53 ERA in 21 1/3 innings pitched. That effort was good enough to catch the eyes of the Angels organization who signed Peralta to a minor league contract in May. His dominance continued in the minors as he had a 4.33 ERA, 24.1% strikeout rate, a 4.8% walk rate in 70 2/3 innings.
This makes it the 3rd year in a row that Peralta has played in MLB, he played with the Chicago Whitesox in 2023 and 2024.
