Women's Golf Wins Jefferson State Invitational
Congratulations to the Palm Beach State womens golf team on their victory at the Jefferson State Invitational in Jasper, Alabama. The Musgrove Country Club was in wonderful condition, and each day it was perfect fall weather.
The Panthers, posted a combined score of 305 after round one. The team was led by freshman Vivian Luu, with her collegiate career round of 75. The remaining scores of Celine Aramsatjakool (76), Miranda Hernandez (77), Liv Romer (77), gave the team a commanding first round lead.
On Day two, the team posted a score of 314 led by sophomore Samantha Stites score of 76, Miranda Hernandez 77, Celine Aramsatjakool 81, and Liv Romer with 81. All five players, including Vivian Luu, finished in the top 10 individually.
Miranda Hernandez finished as the runner-up individually, with a score of 12 over par. Her score was only 2 shots behind first place. Celine's score of 14 over par saw her bring home 3rd place.
Prior to this event the team was ranked 7th in the country for Junior Colleges. The team has improved on their low round in each of the four events. At the season opener their low round was 315, at the UAB event they shot 312, followed by 309 and 308 during the first round of the FIU invitational.
The team has had a very successful fall season and will continue to improve, to be prepared for the spring golf season.
